Japan is one of the most respected eyewear manufacturing areas in the world, a place where handwork is a tradition passed down through generations. This is where Daizo frames are made, by hand, one at a time.
The method is that of a workshop. Materials are chosen with care: high quality acetate, titanium, hand-finished details. No shortcuts. Here, time is part of the design.
A language of restraint
The brand's outlook blends two sensibilities. On one side, the rigour of a German design, made of clean lines and balanced proportions. On the other, Japanese precision, which gives every front an almost sculptural presence.
The result is an architectural, sober, personal aesthetic. No loud logos, no superfluous decoration. The only recognisable sign is a small diamond set into the tip of each temple, a detail you only notice up close.
Details you feel before you see them
The character of Daizo lies in its construction. The Italian acetate arrives in lots dedicated to the brand, and the edges are gently bevelled, so the front gains depth and the material lets the light read it.
The hinges are designed by the brand and open to 180 degrees. The two-tone rivets follow an exclusive design. Inside the temples, a core of titanium or metal wire adds structure without weight. These are technical solutions, yet what they deliver is simple: comfort, balance, lightness on the face.
Four shapes, four characters
Basil reinterprets the classic aviator with a more refined approach, available in black or Dark Havana. The core of the temples is 18 carat gold plated titanium wire, a precious touch that stays discreet. Anyone who loves this shape will find a grown-up version, far from any cliché.
Koji starts from the same silhouette and makes it more technical. The double titanium bridge, with integrated nose pads, draws a light and precise structure, in dialogue with the softness of the Havana Light acetate.
Kimihiko is the brand's square shape, in black and Havana Classic, with a shorter front and sharper proportions. The name pays tribute to the founder's grandfather, a film and theatre director and an eyewear collector. His archive is still the source of inspiration for the collection, which looks to the 1950s and 1960s.
Kei is the lightest square. In Mist Transparent, a translucent smoke grey, it lets the light through and softens the face. If you prefer a bolder character, it also comes in black.
The collection goes further. In the Daizo selection you will also find Jun, Pete, Ludo, Ludwig, Kenji and Eki.
Luxury as concentration
Daizo chooses to make little, and to make it well. Limited editions and careful craftsmanship create a natural rarity, never a contrived one. It is an idea of luxury closer to selection, to care, to conscious choice.
That is why it works so well in the most essential wardrobes. A pair of Daizo does not try to be the accessory that tells the whole story. It accompanies, completes, sets the rhythm. With a trench coat, a white shirt, a cashmere sweater: always in its place.
The detail that stays
If you are looking for eyewear that speaks softly, you have found its name. Daizo is a reminder that true elegance needs very little explaining. You only have to wear it.
